For the assigned challenge of power oscillation mitigation, IE2SPOMTF members engaged in research that focused upon event correlation, via time synchronization, with a focus on oscillation detection and classification. IE2SPOMTF members addressed matters, such as power engineering system analysis and decision calculus, wherein reliability analysis, optimal planning, and operational decision-making were scrutinized. With regards to the decision calculus facet, IE2SPOMTF members explored decision alternatives, states of uncertainty, likelihood of system failures, Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA), and decision heuristics/algorithmics.
